Amarnath Yatra: Due to incessant rains in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, there is a danger of landslides and water-logging. Due to this, the Amarnath Yatra has now been postponed. This information was given by the officials. He said that travel on both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes has been suspended. According to officials, the Amarnath Yatra will be completely suspended on Friday. No one is allowed to enter the cave.

Regarding the postponement of Amarnath Yatra, officials said, ‘‘Yatra has been postponed and no devotee will be allowed to enter the cave today (Friday) morning. Not allowed to go towards.’’ He told that heavy rains started on Friday morning, due to which the yatra of the devotees was temporarily postponed. According to officials, the pilgrims have been stopped at Baltal and Noonwan base camps.
He said that the yatra will be resumed as soon as the weather improves. Officials said that earlier at around 4.45 am, a fresh batch of more than 7,000 pilgrims had left for the Amarnath Yatra from the base camp in Jammu. The pilgrims proceeded towards the valley from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in 247 vehicles amid tight security here.
Total people have done the yatra
According to officials, a convoy of 153 vehicles carrying 4,600 pilgrims was on its way to Pahalgam, while another convoy of 94 vehicles carrying 2,410 pilgrims left at around 4.45 am. Left for Baltal base camp. A total of 43,833 pilgrims have left for the valley from the Jammu base camp since the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra on June 30 this year. According to officials, the number of pilgrims has crossed 84,000.
The 62-day annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine, located at an altitude of 3,888 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas, began from both routes at Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district. This journey is going to end on 31 August. The entire journey is being monitored from the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC). All departments monitor from ICCC and send information to their staff to meet the needs of pilgrims.
